Letter to the Editor on Immigration
Los Angeles Times:
I read the opinion letter written by Gabrielle Hufferd, of Fullerton, California. Not surprisingly, the obvious left documents their fervent belief that they are intellectually superior to the right, or in this instance, the patriots that step forward to: Preserve, Protect and Defend this nation against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
Hufferd’s attack addressed only the compassion that she believes is necessary for one to properly address the Illegal Alien issue. Therefore, my letter will only cover this area; it will not address the factual economic and sovereignty issues created by an invasion of the United States.
Michelle Dallacroce and her group, Mothers Against Illegal Aliens, correctly pointed out that their empathy and compassion is and must be with the permanent underclass or the servant class created by criminal entry into the country, assuming their entry was simply for a better life. Illegal Aliens cannot participate fully in all that this great county has to offer, including, the ability to earn a market wage, safe working conditions and full redress of all grievances whether private or public.
However, as any rationale adult knows, compassion often includes making the tough decisions and choices that not only protect the individuals directly involved but must also protect the bigger picture, i.e., societal interests, which include, the Rule of Law. Open borders, amnesty or providing a pathway to citizenship only encourages more illegal entry and is unacceptable in any form. Enforcement of our laws against all involved in the Illegal Alien process is the only true answer.
Hufferd must come to realize that perpetuating an underclass is not compassionate. These persons, living in the shadows, on the fringes, are not participating in the full American experience. Rather, the servant class of Illegal Aliens is something that I believed was outlawed with the 13th Amendment.
